Daniel checked his reflection in the rear-view mirror of his car. Hairstyle intact, tick. Eyes set to full smoulder, tick. Cock keen and ready for action… not so much. He’d spent the last three hours with one of the sexiest women he knew, and not even a twitch registered. Had someone cursed him?

It wasn’t as if Tab had thrown herself at him. This time. They had a very brief but highly satisfying fling a few years ago before she left to launch her business. He should at least expect a tingle in his trousers at the thought of having her again.

Perhaps he should try harder. Really commit to the effort. Drive away the thoughts that truly had his dick jumping.

Daniel sighed and opened the car, stepping onto the kerb outside his flat on the high street. The showy red of his front door mocked him, and as he opened it, a bright green envelope on the floor caught his attention.

Daniel bent down to pick it up and, turning it over in his fingers, examined the alien object. Silver star stickers adorned its smooth surface, and the word, Danel, screamed loud and proud in gold glitter. The corners of his mouth ticked up. It had to be from his crazy little friend at the farm.

Daniel took the stairs two at a time, walking straight through the internal door, across the lounge, and into the neat kitchen. He dumped his bag on the side. His cleaner would organise his laundry tomorrow.

He sat down at the kitchen table, tearing open the envelope to read the letter inside.
